UNIVERSE, SIMULATION, TESTING IT.

my optimism in the possibility of building a future space colony on earth, regardless of currently insufficient technological capacity and likely limited time before earth will not be able to sustain human life anymore, comes from the knowledge that with an extremely high probability the universe we live in is a simulation. as this is all just a simulation then everything is possible, but there’s a catch: everything is possible that is supporting the purpose what the universe is simulated for. the rest, which in theory could be possible, is way less likely to happen even if it doesn’t contradict to any science we are aware of.
i would claim that it is possible to test if we live in a simulation or not, with an experiment designed to calculate probabilities to the idea that the simulated universe will support progress of generating knowledge, instead of destroying it or being neutral. if in such experiment the inputs are weighted for providing equal outputs for destruction of information and creation of information, then there must be more of the creation of information going on if we live in a simulation. the program of the simulation of the universe must have a tilt towards constant progress built into it, even if we can’t know the laws of physics which are pushing for such outcome of our reality.
thus the survival of the civilisation should be guaranteed, the question is only who will survive. in my view definitely not those with destructive tendencies and those who waste the resources of the human capacity to create new knowledge. also those who waste life on creation of false science and/or bs (bad science), those who are hindering the sharing of true science, are here not for long — they will be eliminated as broken sub programs of the main program of the universe. read more about this on the articles by the links above, in the beginning.
with the logic of there being creator(s), it may look like it makes total sense to pray towards the creator(s) — the more you pray the more chances to be heard — but in fact who knows how often the creator(s) pay attention to this tiny spot in the universe. if the planet earth gets full attention then the prayers will eventually become so annoying that the earth will be abandoned as useless, full of creatures always complaining and wanting more, with little work on their own. but if the attention is paid on the entire universe equally then the earth may get its turn for a second in a million years. who knows what’s the case — by the entire spectrum of probabilities in either direction, from minimum attention to maximum attention, trying to talk to the creator(s) could be one useless activity among many other useless activities, a waste of time, like building places of worship, making sacrifices and so on. if the creators exist, then keeping creators in heart and working for a better life for all, that would bring attention, as the creators would want to see the results. there would be no point in the simulation of the universe with no expectation of results from it.
of course there’s also a possibility that the creators of the universe don’t care about what kind of results this particular simulation produces. by the probability, this universe can be a simulation if and only if there are countless trillions of simulations — we could be in one not so successful yet to get a special attention. the creators may have abandoned this universe for the time being, letting it to develop on its own, while they are busy with observing the simulations of the universes which are way more impressive, producing needed results, giving better answers to the creators who want to know something. this universe could also be wrong, in sense of not developing according to the plan, so it may soon be discarded, the simulation settings changed, and then started again, all over from zero. who knows.
in fact it could be tested if the creators are paying attention to our activities or not. if we are in a simulation that gets enough attention from the creators, then our creation of new useful knowledge, including in science, will be supported more than the probabilities by chance would suggest.
i’m inclined to think that this simulated universe does get good attention from the creators, especially the humans who work on true science. this simulation is on such advanced level that the sub programs — the living organisms — are conscious of their existence, thus there definitely are alerts built into the universe to notify the creators about all useful developments, creating potentially valuable new knowledge, including for the survival of the civilisation. the survival is definitely preferred for those who are the carriers and developers of the new knowledge, and certainly includes also the assisting and supporting tools for such progress. the more impressive a development or a true science discovery, the higher/stronger alert it should give to the creators.
i must point out here the obvious, that the scientists and creative thinkers cannot be very effective in their progress if they must also work on growing their own food, building their own houses, constructing the tools, and so on. thus there’s always a place in the universe to those who are supporting the people who are more efficient in creation of new scientific knowledge, and engineering knowledge for better tools. anyone being an obstacle to the new beneficial knowledge will get a different kind of attention from the creators.
