I wish I had been more persistent decades ago in insisting on the clear errors in the theory of relativity, but at that time I was not aware of the mistakes in the Lorentz transformation, so I was not completely confident in my conclusions.

So, let’s discuss it.

At the beginning of the explanation, the curve of differently ticking clocks is arbitrarily bent — they should have been on the same level on the time scale. Even worse, he says time ticks slower for travelers, while in fact, according to this arbitrary graph, the travelers have experienced more time on the time scale, aging faster than the stationary observer — a total contradiction. It would only make “sense” if the reference frames are chosen arbitrarily, without a fixed reference point, resulting in mathematical nonsense.

Next, in the video, for the zero time of the moving object, the previously horizontal space axis is arbitrarily tilted to connect the 45-degree light lines. This is a big mistake. The connecting light lines have different lengths, which means they do not reach the moving object at the same time. The horizontal plane of the space axis should have remained unchanged if the reference frame is stationary. The “sloped x-axis,” even if one allows manipulation from the moving object’s reference frame, is sloped in the wrong direction. The entire presentation is a mess of arbitrary assumptions — it clearly demonstrates the mistakes in the initial inputs of the Lorentz transformation and in the handling of reference frames.

The line representing the moving object can never tilt beyond 45 degrees, which is correct, because that would imply exceeding the speed of light. However, the connecting lines — being of different lengths — would show redshift or blueshift if space were expanding or contracting, respectively. In this example, however, the light simply arrives at different times, not simultaneously, as assumed in the video, by logic that is unclear to me.

I am not done with the Lorentz transformation yet — hold on. At the end of the video, the presenter grids the traveler’s reference frame (with all the logical errors already present) and squares everything up. Why? By the same logic, he could just as well square up the traveler’s frame without any transformation.

You see, in formulas without graphical visualization, it is easy to misunderstand the lines of time as merely reference lines. In reality, these lines represent physically passing time — the lengths of the connecting lines must be taken into account. Only the vertical and horizontal axes should be treated as reference lines, without arbitrarily assigning the same role to the lines representing the passage of time. Again, there is the issue of arbitrary reference frames: in space-time, one cannot switch frames arbitrarily, because that would imply changing position without accounting for the passage of time. If you change the frame of reference during calculations, you must account for the time elapsed during that change, which would nullify the purpose of the Lorentz transformation, since time dilation would disappear.

The very idea of applying the Lorentz transformation to time dilation is absurd. It is abstract mathematics filled with logical errors that do not correspond to reality. The displacement of galaxies relative to one another already occurs at speeds of millions of kilometers per hour. So if an object departs from Earth, it may actually be slowing down relative to some frames, rather than speeding up. More realistically, since Earth orbits the Sun and the solar system orbits within the galaxy, a “stationary” observer is constantly moving. But that is not the main point. The main point is that the principle of relativity is not preserved under the Lorentz transformation as it is applied here. These calculations and graphs are based on a presumption — a flawed thought experiment — that time moves slower for objects approaching the speed of light. The error is visible not only in the graphical representation but also in the underlying assumption that velocity affects the passage of time.

I have written about this before: if you repeat the calculations after swapping the stationary and moving reference frames, then time dilation appears for the other object instead. The opposite results cannot be correct at the same time.
