A possible increase in the intensity of each cosmic bounce.
This could be one way the universe evolves: first growing slowly and gradually, then collapsing and bouncing into new universes with ever-increasing intensity, until the bounce becomes so strong that collapse is no longer possible and everything dissipates. After that, a new universe slowly begins to form, and the cycle continues.
This model requires new matter to be constantly created, slowly but steadily. This is possible from the quantum vacuum. It also implies that matter can disappear back into the quantum vacuum. Such disappearance could occur over extremely long timescales through decay, when no supporting cosmic structure remains after a violent bounce and the resulting dissipation of energy. Meanwhile, when the bounce is not strong enough, universes continue to grow.
The quantum vacuum would still exist, with or without a universe, regardless of the stage the universe is in. Complete non-existence is not possible.
