Awakening to the Fragility of Life on Earth.
I think everyone in the world should dedicate their efforts, according to their abilities, to advancing space technologies. Spending effort and resources on wars is like fighting for better living conditions in a house built on a riverbank, where the foundation is gradually being washed away.
We need a backup home — another planet or a space colony — and even better, several homes in different locations throughout the universe. Nobody knows how much time we have left on Earth before living conditions become impossible to sustain, but it’s guaranteed that this planet will not support life forever. We’d better wake up to the fragility of Earth now and stop fighting among ourselves, turning our attention instead toward developing self-sustaining colonies in space capable of moving from one region of the universe to another in case of predicted cosmic cataclysms.
How everyone on Earth can get involved, regardless of their abilities, is already known — a brain structure scan, done in early adulthood when the brain has matured, can reveal individual talents, whether or not a person has discovered them before. Such a scan can identify exactly who is best suited for which roles, allowing people to focus their development accordingly. Everyone would be happier because they would be working in areas where they excel, for the benefit of all.
It’s up to us to decide whether we will progress fast enough to leave Earth or fail to do so. The Earth doesn’t care — it will recycle everything, as it has done many times before — until even the Earth itself is recycled, whether we’re still here or have moved on with our space colonies.
