Things to Fix.

Things that WordPress should fix — a wishlist in case you read it. I have just discovered that YouTube videos don’t show in the WordPress Reader (I’m using Android 12 tablet, and Android 12 phone), in any of the embedding modes ..
* YouTube video embed v1 — editor block;
* YouTube video embed v2 — old method embedding mode in square brackets;
* YouTube video embed v3 — link only, in a separate line.
All of the methods show in the Reader “Error 153 Video player configuration error”, while in browsers there are no such issues.
[ 251115 update: With the update of JetPack app on 251114, the YouTube video player issue in WordPress Reader has been resolved. ]
And since I’m already into big, impossible wishes, here are more things that I’ve long given up trying to fix, some of them after talking to tech support:
1) I wish I could show the year when each post was published, clearly visible on every blog post, next to the day and month, or even better in a military style: YYYY.MM.DD, or YYMMDD. As that’s not the case, it’s impossible to quickly see in search results whether something is a fresh publication or an old one.
2) When viewing the blog on a desktop screen — especially large, high-resolution ones — the blog appears small, with a lot of unused space around it, and the text is too tiny to read comfortably. Automatic resizing to fit the screen properly must be addressed.
3) The old subscription method to receive an email for each new post no longer works when the option is included on my blog. Now, each subscriber receives a link but is redirected to subscribe on WordPress instead of simply confirming the request. Please fix this, or add a separate option. In the past, there was even an option to receive notifications by email each time a post was updated.
4) Perhaps there are more issues that aren’t showing up in my brain processor right now. If something else appears on my mental screen, I’ll update the post.

In any case, I wish you all the best in your hard work. Keep up the fight for freedom of speech — one of the few platforms left that doesn’t censor science, real news, nor political content.
