SimU #A014 _ Life Unnoticed — A Possible Case in Simulated Reality.
Even if we were proven to be living in a simulated reality — either through direct physical/mathematical evidence, or by an extremely high probability — it would be wise not to exclude the possibility that the creators of the simulation are unaware of our existence. We could be an unintended byproduct of the simulation. This is entirely plausible, considering the vastness of the universe.
If the purpose of the simulation were to create conscious and self-aware entities, this process could occur on a cosmic scale as well, exactly as intended by the creators. It could be the case that it is impossible for the creators of the universe to notice and/or communicate with living entities in smaller scale. Smaller-scale life forms could simply be too small to detect, much like how our own understanding fails at extremely small scales, near the Planck length and beyond.
It is possible that, in order to be noticed by our creators, we would need to have an impact on the scale of galaxies. However, if we were to succeed in doing so, we might just as easily be dismissed as errors/”bugs” in the program and eliminated without a second thought, since the scientists of the higher-level reality might not be immune to the same kinds of flaws and limitations that our own researchers face.
That scenario might also explain why we haven’t found other intelligent life forms that have an impact on our universe. They could all have been shut down, or “debugged” so to say, by the creators of the simulated universe we live in.
Who knows how many universes we ourselves have already created, and how many of those we have destroyed where life had begun.
