Are ghosts real?
I decided to write my story after learning about an interesting event from a credible source ..

My story.
I had always been skeptical of all those ghost stories — until I experienced something scary myself. It was in 1990, in the living quarters of a military training facility, on a weekend when only one other person and I were staying in the same room, on the second floor. Everyone else had gone home for the weekend. It was Sunday, a sunny spring day.
We were having a quiet conversation when suddenly someone knocked on the door. We looked at each other, and I immediately jumped up and opened it — but nobody was there. Both sides of the hallway were long, all the other doors were locked, and the building itself was locked. There was nowhere for anyone to hide or run.
I hadn’t even asked who was there because I was ready to fight and catch the intruder — we had the keys to the building and were responsible for the equipment inside. We both clearly heard the knocking on the door. We tried everything to reproduce the sound, looked for hidden devices, and checked that the windows were closed, but we found no explanation.
The training facility was out of town and so quiet that anyone running away would have been easily heard. If I remember correctly, we never stayed there again on weekends.
