Entropy, AI, and the Fate of Human Existence.
Considering that the universe seems to favor a faster rate of entropy — which implies processes that consume more energy — AI may be a more suitable option for this progression than living organisms. Once humans are no longer in the loop to maintain and oversee AI, biological life may no longer be necessary for the universe and its creators. Humanity can only persist if it evolves in ways that provide insights or abilities beyond the reach of artificial intelligence. Perhaps the next stage of evolution will involve the development of abilities such as telepathy or other ‘magical’ phenomena that science has yet to explain. Crucially, these evolved abilities must be of a kind that, in principle, cannot be replicated by computer systems, regardless of their complexity.
