It is highly likely that ancient lost civilizations with advanced technology capable of producing huge stone structures also had bunkers and cities deep underground to survive cosmic catastrophes.
It is possible that ancient tunnels across continents led to such bunkers, or connected several of these survival bunkers. It is quite possible that, in these doomsday bunkers and cities, the knowledge of those civilizations was preserved in some form.
With our modern technology, it should be possible to find these ancient doomsday cities, especially considering that they must be enormous structures.
