someone attempted to break in to my new place.
This morning I discovered that someone had attempted to open the gate but didn’t succeed, and attempted to climb the wall as well. The wall has some security installations, so perhaps this stopped the failed intruder. Or maybe the light at home and some of my things in the garden, showing my presence, stopped the intruder. Who knows. From the gate the light at home is not visible, one needs to climb the wall a bit, to see what’s in the territory behind it.
At night, when I’m home, I don’t activate alarms usually, to avoid false positives from the wind moving the vegetation in the garden or the animals triggering the alarms. There are some animals making noise at night — I’m used to those sounds. Yesterday I suspected that some sounds were different and went out to investigate, but I didn’t see anything suspicious. I looked around the whole garden and also inspected the gate door from inside, everything seemed to be ok. But apparently I was right about the different sounds from usual. Now I need to activate the alarms even at night when sleeping. The alarms can wake me up with false positives but now I have no choice — the clear signs of an intrusion attempt can not be ignored.
