glitches

it may sound not extremely scientific but being true to my observations i must write about it..

in recent years i have noticed some incredibly improbable coincidences. it feels like glitches in the universe. if it was just once a year bizarre coincidence, then i could discard those as my incompetence in understanding the probabilities of such things happening in life of everyone.. but as those things are now happening every month and sometimes even few times a week then i’m starting to pay ever more attention to them.

i cannot describe all of those events here, because for each case you need to tell an entire story prior to a coincidental last event, sometimes even several events and from years ago.

i give just one example:

about a year ago i bought an antique camera suitcase just because of the belt of the case. i don’t need the case itself so i am using it to store cables which are not in use. the case is old and the key to the two locks didn’t come with it — it was lost long time ago. recently in paris metro, coming out from the subway train, i needed to look something in my phone, so i put my bag on the closest chair right after exiting the train. when i was about to leave the spot i noticed next to the chair a small key. usually i don’t pick up lost keys.. but by this time i had seen so many coincidences that it immediately connected in my mind with the suitcase i had bought without the key.. but as the case is very old and different from everything in use today — it’s a very specific type for very old camera, with no regular suitcase locks — then after thinking of it i perhaps said it even out loud, not only in my mind: “no way”, while picking up the key. and yes, coming back to my place later, i verified it was the exact type of key for the large camera suitcase, or similar ones, and not a very simple key, just small.

so, how do you calculate probabilities here: to come out from the subway train in the exact station, in exact door, and stop at the exact seat, and the exact time before someone else takes the key, to find the exact type of key to a camera case with a specific lock which is not in use anymore perhaps for decades? of course i could have found a type of key anywhere in paris, but then i should have found them a few, before the exact match, but this was the only key i found during the year, since i bought the case because of the camera belt. another thing: i gave away all my professional camera gear last year, including the belt for the camera, only the old type camera case is left, storing some cables, so why i found the key now is not clear to me — i cannot make a connection here because i don’t need to lock the case. still, a very interesting event, needing an explanation.

that’s just one such glitch in the universe i could easily describe, while there are countless more. most of them are hard to describe in few words but by the improbability some of them are way more impressive, and with a deep meaning.

i don’t know what to make of it, about such a high frequency of improbable events in recent times. there are some theories in my mind, or rather guesses, but i cannot verify any of those theories, in sense of what exactly is causing those glitches in recent years to be so frequent.

i do pay attention more than before of course, and that may be one explanation: i just notice such events better than before while they have always been present. but i can hardly believe that in over fifty years of my life i have only now began noticing those incredible coincidences, not paying attention before.

some of the happenings, in the amount of them, are pushing me to go away from paris, and i even know where, so i must listen to the universe. i do think that those glitches are happening for a reason, so i must take the path which i feel is right for my place in the universe.
