i’ve been in france for the last four years, again, and i like it here, but there are still places to discover. i’m not planning to see the entire world, not every country — been around in most places on earth i wanted to see, but there are still a few i would like to see with my own eyes and learn the culture while living there.. quite possible that france isn’t the country where i will settle down finally, while de facto i am living and working here for over two decades already. well, counting the years of travels and work in several other countries around the world, it makes about eight years total in france — so far i have always come back to france as i feel it here the most at home.
from 38 countries where i have traveled, i stayed some time — from half a year to few years — in canada, ireland, italy, japan, norway, polynesia, russia, spain, sweden, switzerland .. and in some countries i’ve been so many times for few week/month trips that i know them better than some of those where i lived and worked in. still, not a single country is my true home, even france.. at least not yet. being in paris in total for over five years, i would feel me better in south of france, where i also lived and worked for few years — in nice and monaco. in fact i became stuck here in paris during the global travel restrictions, and then the life pulled me in. i prefer to live in a location where big part of life isn’t spent on daily commute between all the places you need to go.
during the last four years in paris, in back of my mind there has whole the time been the sense that tomorrow is the day where i go to travel again, but as i said, life keeps me stuck here, especially some medical procedures which i still need to continue. but i will get to travel again, that’s the plan.
for the next year there are some new discovery trips planned, in my mind, just need to find time after the final preparations on my health side are completed.
