CONTROLLING THE SUN.
there aren’t many ways to control the sun, but still, in a limited way we can do it already with current technology, to gain billions of years of time before the sun consumes earth while expanding.
some types of stars begin expanding, instead of collapsing into black holes during an implosion, when they will run out of fuel. our sun is such star. in a few billions years it will begin expanding and becoming hotter, boiling the oceans well before it reaches in size the orbit of the earth. we cannot prevent it from happening but there’s a way to slow down the process of expansion.
the idea isn’t entirely mine, only the technical part is my idea, that we humans could do it. later below i will link to the science video where you will see where did i get the idea from.
it can be done by creating a tiny black hole to slow down the expansion of the sun far in the future. it should be done well before the sun loses its fuel and begins expanding, otherwise it will not work — the black hole will not have enough material to grow inside the sun and to slow down the expansion.
the timing of the creation of the black hole must be calculated quite precisely, in millions of years or so, but the location of the created black hole doesn’t need to be very exact — it will settle itself into the center of the sun by the gravity.
with powerful enough lasers, pointing at the edge of the sun in a single tiny spot, the black hole can relatively easily be created, but the issue will be in verification if the project was a success. thus the technical process must be a bit more complicated, with a feedback option.
relatively large mass, a very dense material, could be sent to a close distance from the sun, and before the sun consumes the dense object it must be blasted with large, powerful lasers, creating a tiny black hole, which will begin to consume it. that must be done well before the object reaches the sun, because the process of consuming the object by a tiny black hole will not be instant — it will take time. by calculating the amount of ejected material from blasting the object with lasers it can be verified if the project was a success. then, while the object will be shrinking in size it can be further verified if the black hole is present, before it reaches the sun and will be consumed by it.
the most effective way to create a moving black hole towards the sun will be with lasers mounted on the dense, large object. with a short, explosive, concentrated pulse from multiple lasers it will be a relatively simple system, perhaps with a nuclear explosion providing the energy needed for the concentrated laser beam(s), before the optics and the entire system evaporates. the dense object itself must be large enough not to evaporate and to provide a reference for the presence of the created tiny black hole, with its diminishing size or rotation around the black hole if it somehow escapes the dense object.
once the black hole enters the sun, the process of growth of the black hole inside it will take millions and even billions of years, before it has any visible effect from the outside.

thus, sending a small black hole — or several of those to be sure — into our sun, in a well calculated period, we could borrow some time for relocating our civilisation to a safe place in space.
in any case we should be prepared to move away from here way earlier before our sun begins to expand, as soon as technology permits, because the expansion of the sun in a distant future isn’t the only danger to life on earth.
