in another video below, from the same science channel, there is explained a theory about the cycles of the earth’s tectonic plates, a theory which makes the point that possibly the next mass extinction event is due in a couple of millions of years. this is of course still just a theory, but based on solid evidence of previous extinction events on earth..

obviously we cannot count on having the two million years to get prepared.. a global scale event wiping out life as we know it could happen way earlier. the work on preparing for survival in artificial environments, in different kinds, must be done at all times, becoming gradually more robust against different challenges. personally i keep studying, to understand what can be done and how. you can do your own part, simply by learning different sciences. even if you won’t become an expert in any field you can still come up with an idea which will ease the process of securing the continuation of life.
